About the AA!!

The Arts Abstract is an arts publication for students at the University of King’s College, in Kjipuktuk (Halifax), Nova Scotia.

Our goals are:

  • To bridge the gap between King’s students and the greater arts community in Halifax.
  • To collaborate and support each other in arts-related projects.
  • To encourage, support, and facilitate collective arts endeavours by and for King’s students.
  • To publicly share all of this work with the King’s community online.
  • This looks like a whole bunch of things—publishing a weekly or bi-weekly email newsletter with upcoming arts events, with a focus on free and all-ages events, interviewing local artists, tying a film camera to the wall in the Wardroom and posting those photos on Facebook after, sponsoring bands to come to King’s to play shows, and (spoiler!) maybe even publishing a journal.

Now tell us a little about you!

Lol!

The Arts Abstract is a ratified society with the King’s Students’ Union. Here’s our constitution.
